Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using OriginStart AI ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
Service Description
OriginStart provides an AI API Gateway that:
- Routes API requests to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.)
- Caches responses to reduce costs and improve performance
- Tracks usage, enforces quotas, and provides real-time analytics
- Offers team management and budget controls
We are an intermediary service. We do not train AI models or generate responses directly. All AI outputs originate from third-party providers governed by their own terms.
Account Registration
- You must be 18 years or older to use the Service
- You are responsible for maintaining account security and API key confidentiality
- One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account
- You must provide accurate billing and contact information
- We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate accounts at our discretion
Acceptable Use
You MAY:
- Use the Service for commercial or personal projects
- Integrate OriginStart into your applications and services
- Share API keys within your organization (Managed Router plan only)
You MAY NOT:
- Resell or white-label the Service without written permission
- Abuse rate limits or attempt to circumvent usage quotas
- Reverse engineer our routing algorithms or caching mechanisms
- Use the Service for illegal activities including but not limited to: generating illegal content, phishing, malware distribution, harassment, or violating third-party intellectual property rights
- Share API keys publicly or compromise security
- Generate excessive load that disrupts service availability for other users
Pricing and Payment
Pay-As-You-Go API Credit
- No subscription is required to create and use API keys after the account is unlocked by a qualifying top-up.
- Every standard and custom top-up receives a 100% matched bonus: pay $X and receive $X paid API credit plus $X bonus API credit.
- Paid API credit and matched top-up bonus API credit do not expire.
- The $5 community welcome API credit expires 30 days after redemption and may be claimed once per OriginStart account across Discord and Telegram.
API Credit
Dollar-denominated amounts shown as credit or balance are account API usage credits, not cash, stored value, a bank deposit, or a transferable currency. API usage is deducted according to the applicable model and cache pricing shown in the dashboard. Promotional credits, including matched top-up bonus and community welcome credit, have no cash value and are non-transferable.
Refunds
- Refund requests are reviewed manually and are not automatic.
- Any approved refund is limited to the unused portion of paid API credit. Matched top-up bonus, community credit, and other promotional credit are non-refundable.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Processing time depends on Stripe, the card network, and the issuing bank.
- Promotional credit is consumed before paid credit where technically available, so the dashboard's paid credit balance is the maximum amount eligible for review, not a guarantee of refund.
Service Availability
- We target 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced 48 hours in advance
- We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party AI providers or infrastructure partners
- SLA credits available for Managed Router customers (see separate SLA document)
Data and Privacy
- We do not store prompt content or AI responses. Requests pass through our routing layer but are not logged.
- Usage metadata (timestamps, token counts, models, cache usage, cost, latency, and routing metadata) is retained as needed for billing, analytics, security, and account reporting.
- Cached responses are stored temporarily based on your TTL settings (default 24 hours).

Third-Party Provider Terms
When using OriginStart, you also agree to the terms of service of the AI providers we route to:
You are responsible for compliance with provider-specific policies. We do not indemnify violations of third-party terms.
Intellectual Property
- OriginStart owns all rights to our platform, dashboard, routing algorithms, and documentation
- You retain ownership of your data and any content you submit through the Service
- AI-generated outputs are governed by the originating provider's IP policy
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- OriginStart is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the past 12 months (maximum $279)
- We are not responsible for AI outputs, which are generated by third-party providers
- You use the Service at your own risk for mission-critical applications
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold OriginStart harmless from any claims arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) violation of these Terms, (c) violation of third-party rights, or (d) content you submit through the Service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
- Fail to pay fees owed
- Use the Service in a way that harms other users or our infrastructure
Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days. You may export your usage logs before termination.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced via email 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
